St. Andrew’s Society of Oregon
The society provides scholarships to seniors graduating from high school in the state of Oregon or in Clark County, Washington, and planning to attend college in the United States. Scholarship recipients may re-apply if still in school. In order to apply for a scholarship, a student must have been born in Scotland or have a parent or grandparent born in Scotland or must have made a “substantial commitment ” to the Scottish arts of Highland dance, bagpiping, drumming, Scottish fiddle or Celtic harp. The society holds an annual meeting and banquet in November with traditional Scottish entertainment. The society is a 501 (3c) organization with membership open to those enjoying sharing Scottish traditions and culture and supporting the society’s scholarship program.
